Project management

List

In the "Projects" site, you can see a list of projects submitted by the students. In this list you can find the Student's name, the title and the status. You can access for more details of the project at each line.

Under Construction

We have not yet implemented the button for changing status to "Student Review", we should add info about that once we have developed it.

Details

You can see all the details of an specific project and if it is on "WAITING VALIDATION COORDINATOR" status you could also accept or send to review the project.

If you want to send to review a project you need to provide an explanation.

Credit List

In this view you can see all the student statuses imported by the Master’s Program Admins or Coordinators. All the fields are editable, except the user data (username and full name). You could also delete an entry if needed.

At the end of the page you have an "Add" button where both Coordinators and Master’s Program Admins can obtain the template to fill and subsequently use to import the data.

Warning

Please, respect the excel, otherwise the importation can go wrong!

Info

"Relationship Restrictions" This means that there is another component dependent on the one you try to delete. For example you cannot delete a context which has already projects or other component depending on the context.

Contexts operations

• Create new contexts.
• Delete a context (with relationship restrictions).
• Edit a context.
• Activate a context.

Supervisors operations

• Create new supervisors (the user needs to exist at EPFL).
• Delete a supervisor (with relationship restrictions).
• Edit a supervisor.

Laboratories/Centers operations

• Create new laboratories/centres.
• Delete a laboratory/center (with relationship restrictions).
• Edit a laboratory/center.

Master Programs operations

• Create new Master Program.
• Delete a Master Program (with relationship restrictions).
• Edit a Master Program.
• Restrict/Unrestrict a Master Program.

Info

A Master Program which is restricted makes that students from that Master Program will not receive Supervisor suggestions from other different Master Program.

ICDomains operations

• Create new IC Domains.
• Delete an IC Domain (with relationship restrictions).
• Edit an IC Domain.

Countries operations

• Add new Countries.
• Remove Countries.
• Edit a Country.

Schools operations

• Create new Schools.
• Delete a School (with relationship restrictions).
• Edit a School.

Users operations

• Add management roles to new Users.
• Remove management roles from a User.
• Change management roles from a User.

User Testing Environment

This environment can be tested by any user but it is more oriented to Coordinators. Because of that there is a Mimic system so Coordinators can test other roles.

Danger

The mail system is enabled on this environment so be careful because the Users you use will receive emails when correspond.

Mimic System

If you have rights (mainly Coordinators) you will have a new entry in the Top Menu called "Mimic". Inside you will see a menu to select the role to impersonate.

You can select one and the menu will consider you as the new role. Menu items will appear/disappear consequently but you will always have the Mimic entry so you can "Rollback" your role. Rolling back means going back to your real role.
